Privacy policy
Effective September 18, 2026 · Native iOS and Android app
Offline operation
Formula Notebook is a free, offline notebook with no account requirement. The app does not transmit recipes, experiment records, templates, device identifiers or usage activity to the publisher. It contains no advertising, analytics, tracking, cloud synchronization or online AI.
Storage and retention
Recipes, branches, experiment records, custom templates and unfinished record drafts are kept in the device's application storage until you erase them or uninstall the app. The app configures its record storage to be excluded from automatic system backup. Keep your own exported backups; uninstalling the app or losing the device may lose unexported data.
Import and export
The app reads a selected backup through the system file picker or exports data through the system share interface only when you request it. Unfinished drafts are not included in a full backup. If you choose cloud storage, email or another service as a destination, that service processes the file under its own policy. The app does not upload it automatically.
Deletion
Use Tools → About & Privacy → Erase local data to remove saved records, custom templates, drafts and internal recovery copies. Delete any files you previously exported outside the app separately. There are no app accounts or server-side notebook records.
Permissions and platform services
The app does not request camera, microphone, location, contacts or photo-library access. File access is authorized through the system picker. Operating systems and app stores may process diagnostics or download information under their own settings; these are not in-app analytics services.
